Jeanne Sparrow is a multi-talented media performer, well-known to Chicago audiences. She's an Emmy-winning television program host and reporter, a voice-over artist and top-rated and award-winning radio personality.
Jeanne’s media career started completely by accident -- and continues on purpose, thanks to a little luck, fun and joy. While still in high school, Jeanne’s speech and debate coach sent her to audition as an announcer on a country-western radio station in her hometown of New Iberia, Louisiana. She got the job and that’s where she fell in love with radio. After graduating and moving to the Chicago area to attend Northwestern University, she kept at it – in college at WNUR, interning at WGN, eventually being heard on several Chicago radio stations as host and co-host, including morning shows on WGCI with comedians George Wallace and Steve Harvey and on WLUP with Danny Bonaduce.
A few years into her radio career, Jeanne began appearing on television. Now her experience includes a wide variety of work, including hosting entertainment, arts, public affairs and cultural programs, and also serving as a morning traffic reporter and entertainment reporter. She has appeared on several network affiliates, including NBC, PBS, UPN, and also on the Big Ten Network, Comcast Network and Chicago superstation WGN, as well as on United Airlines in-flight programming and on the internet.
Even if you don’t see her face, you might hear her voice almost anywhere. As a voice-over artist, Jeanne can also be heard on television and radio commercials, websites, CD-ROMs, phone systems and multi-media presentations for retail, business and instruction.
Right now, you can hang out with Jeanne every weekday morning as she hosts the new morning information and entertainment program, “You & Me This Morning ”… airing from 6 to 8am on WCIU “The U.”
